Bath's School-Based Dental Program

Dental services are now available at Bath Central Schools!

We are excited to announce that Bath Community Health is collaborating with Bath Central Schools to bring dental services to your child during school hours!

Routine dental care is important, but we know how difficult it can be to make time for these appointments while juggling your family’s needs. By offering these services during school hours, everyone wins—especially your child!

choose from thESE dental services:

  • Dental exams (checking for cavities and gum disease)
  • Free dental screening, toothbrush, floss and oral hygiene instruction
  • Teeth cleaning, toothbrush, floss and oral hygiene instruction
  • Fluoride treatment (a coating to increase protection against cavities)
  • X-Rays (to see if there are any cavities)
  • Sealants (a covering to protect the teeth from getting cavities)

How does it work?

To put it simply, the dentist’s office is going to your child instead of your child going to the dentist’s office! Your child will be seen at school in a safe, comfortable setting that is familiar to them.

Our hygienist and/or dentist will meet with your child and perform the services that you select. You may accompany your child, but it’s NOT required – we can proceed with your permission. Each child will be sent home with a letter explaining the treatment that was provided. If your child needs additional dental work, we will call to schedule a future appointment.

What is the cost?

  • There is NO cost when your child is seen by a dental provider in the school.
  • We will bill your insurance and accept what they pay. You are not responsible for co-pays, deductibles, or balances of visits when your child is seen at the school.
  • If your child does not have dental insurance, there will still be no cost to you.

How do I sign my child up for School-Based Dental Services?

*Please note: if your child is already a dental patient at any one of our Finger Lakes Community Health Centers, we still encourage you to enroll your child in this program.

By working together, Bath Community Health and your school have the ability to improve your child’s dental health. We are excited to offer this service to the families in our community!
