Courtney Formosa, LMHC, Penn Yan Community Health & Penn Yan School-Based Health Center (PYSBHC)
Courtney became a mental health therapist because she wanted to make a real difference in people’s lives. She enjoys helping people work through challenges, build confidence, and grow stronger along the way.
She earned her Master of Education degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in Mental Health Counseling from Alfred University. Before joining Finger Lakes Community Health (FLCH), Courtney worked as a family therapist supporting at-risk youth and their families. She chose FLCH because of its strong focus on caring for the whole person and meeting the unique needs of the community.
Courtney believes every person deserves compassionate, high-quality care centered on their individual needs and goals. She works closely with patients to help them navigate difficult moments while building healthy coping skills, resilience, balance, and self-confidence. Her approach includes mindfulness, self-care, empowerment, trauma-informed care, and practical strategies patients can use in everyday life.
Outside of work, Courtney enjoys spending time with her family and dog, traveling, and playing volleyball.
